FINALLY! I think there may be hope for mainstream media yet. It took a brand new reporter (a newly hired one) working for the San Francisco Chronicle to muster the intestinal fortitude required to speak truth to slumlord power (Randy Shaw).
“All Star Hotel residents say problems persist”
Kale Williams, Chronicle staff writer

Kudos to you Mr. Kale Williams, staff writer par excellence. Despite biased oppinions offered by those accused (Beyond Chron), you are the one who has been slandered sir. You are only guillty of reporting the factual truth.
Little did I know that my humble post to SeeClickFix would result in drawing the attention of the mainstream media, I honestly didn’t think it would ever be seen. The site itself is actually a mobile app that allows San Franciscans to report code violations of all kinds to the City Attorney’s Office (SeeClickFix on Wikipedia). I decided to post my complaint there really as just an afterthought, I had no clue that the site was being monitored by clever reporters like Kale of the S.F. Chronicle. In my defense, I’m an old guy and have yet to fully appreciate the power of social media but, I’m learning. What I think I did that was different from most who post complaints there was to cut and paste a very detailed letter which fully explained the situation, complete with complaint numbers included.
You have my thanks and admiration Kale Williams, your efforts have done much to restore my faith in the mainstream media. Very brave of you. If we are to have any hope of regaining a democracy that is of the people, by the people and for the people, it will be due in no small part to courageous journalists such as yourself. Journalists who are not afraid of angering the elites by reporting the truth of their misdeeds.
